Massport is currently searching for a Deputy Director of Internal Audit, responsible for assisting the Director of Internal Audit/ Chief Auditor in the leadership, management, promotion and ongoing development of the Internal Audit function.
Oversee all administrative aspects of the internal audit department including scheduling, utilization, and the management of the department budget.
Develop and present reports and analyses for the Board and executive and senior managers.
Responsible for the annual Authority-wide Internal Audit Risk Assessment.
Prepare annual department analysis of best practices in internal audit by reviewing the work results and activities of audit functions in organizations similar to Massport.
Interact and resolve issues with external auditors and members of Massport management.
Collaborate on continuous improvement projects with all facets of the Authority.
Ensure training, education, mentoring, and development of subordinates.
Prepare planning memoranda and formalize and approve audit strategies.
Manage the scheduling and utilization of assigned team members and assigned projects.
Act as a liaison with all levels of management during the audit assignments and projects.
Make recommendations on the risk rating classifications of audit findings and the overall audit rating on audit projects and reports.
Discusses audit findings and recommendations with management.
Review and prepares draft audit reports and recommendations for the Director of Internal Audit’s approval.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting and/or finance preferred), with Masters in Accounting or Master of Business Administration degree preferred, and at least 3 years of experience as a director or deputy director of internal audit and 8-10 years of senior management experience in an internal audit department at the leadership level. At least 3 years of external audit experience with a public accounting firm is preferred.
Qualified candidates will also hold certification as a Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or equivalent professional audit certification, and will have excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated knowledge of computer applications and use of technology in current financial and operational environments, and the ability to pass a Massport controlled substances test and background security checks. Knowledge of PeopleSoft, ACL, and TeamMate software preferred.
