1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 2. Licensure as CPA, CMA certification, or Masters Degree in Accounting; 3. Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and reporting requirements applicable to private not-for-profit colleges and universities; 4. Minimum of five years of successful experience working in a management/supervisory role; 5. Understanding and commitment to Kettering University Values: a. Strong commitment and ability to work as part of a team across the organization; 9. Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and personal computing software and experience using data base management systems; 10. Experience in gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information in a clear, accurate and concise manner; 11. Sound knowledge and/or experience with audit activities, payroll processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, budget analysis, cash flows, investment transactions, and general accounting and finance functions; 12. Ability to read, understand, analyze, interpret and implement accounting rules, governmental regulations, and technical procedures impacting University operations; 13. Ability to effectively execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently and reliably perform assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures; 14. Ability to develop, implement, and effectively maintain strong internal controls for accounting and finance operations. 15. Experience in the preparation of audited financial statements; 16. Willingness and commitment to participate in ongoing professional development training.
