The 1199SEIU Funds provide pension and health benefits for healthcare organizations including leading institutions such as Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and NYU Medical Center. These organizations employ a large union workforce. With approximately $11 billion of assets under management, we are one of the largest providers of union pension and health benefits in the nation.
The Investment Department seeks to hire a junior analyst. The position represents an opportunity to gain significant exposure to a broad array of asset classes including equity, fixed income, hedge funds and private equity. The selected individual will work closely with the 5 member Investment Team that oversees external asset managers, performance reporting and operations.
Calculate and review critical performance information in external managers’ reports including fund and benchmark returns.
Prepare and review daily performance calculations, resolve exceptions, and investigate outliers
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly performance reporting to resolve performance discrepancies between custodian and external portfolio managers’ statements
Prepare various performance related departmental projects
Performing ad-hoc reports as requested
Prepare quarterly compliance reports of alternative managers to ensure adherence to investment guidelines
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and/or Mathematics) with outstanding academic performance that demonstrates strong analytical background and quantitative skills
1-3 years of professional experience
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while still maintaining strict attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues appropriately
Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures with the goal of continuous improvement
Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
