Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager is responsible for general accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis as well as involvement at various depths of FP&A, process improvements, and other special projects including future acquisitions.
Responsible for timely and accurate month-end close including the execution of any month/quarter/year-end deliverables.
Create and distribute management reports that provide clear and synthesized understanding of financial performance and relevant KPIs.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts across the business.
Understand business drivers and their effect on financial results to ensure business changes are accurately reflected in the financial statements and explained in variance analysis.
Provide accounting treatment guidance on new business and unusual transactions.
Assist in the interim and annual external audit process.
Manage the fixed asset system to ensure proper accounting for capital expenditures and depreciation.
Become an expert in the retail ERP system (BRdata) and seek to find more value-creating strategies to further leverage the system.
Become an expert in other accounting-related systems such as Sage 100 Advanced, etc., and periodically review the suite of technology that is being used to enable maximum functionality and efficiency.
Develop and coach junior team members.
Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports and assist with special projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
Accounting designation (CPA)
5+ years of financial accounting experience (accounting, analysis, controls, systems), ideally within a retail environment
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and GAAP reporting
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Be a results-oriented leader with the ability to promote collaborative relationships at all levels
Proactive and capable of prioritizing multiple activities simultaneously
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written
Familiar with maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality
Adaptable to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment
