We are seeking a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT who can manage a large and diverse volume of responsibilities. This position will report to the Director of Finance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• General Accounting
  • Ensure integrity of accounting information by reconciling various general ledger accounts monthly
  • Analyze budget by comparing actual results to budget
  • Assist in accounting for subsidiaries Lakeshore Jewish Funerals and Westlawn Cemetery
  • Maintain Fixed Assets schedule
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare documentation for outside auditors
  • Other duties as assigned

• Payroll
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls through Paycor and oversee payroll tax reporting
  • Maintain staff payroll records and benefit elections including health, dental and 401k plan
  • Improve and monitor payroll systems by creating new procedures and reports

• Accounts Payable
  • Review invoices for proper authorization and coding to process for payment
  • Analyze spending trends and help to ensure cost efficiencies
  • Maintenance and issuance of 1099’s and W9’s

• Accounts Receivable
  • Ensure accuracy of billing invoices for membership, preschool and religious school through monthly reconciliations
  • Assist Member Services Specialist position with issuing monthly billing invoices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
• Minimum two years of relevant accounting experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft office and expert Excel skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skill; proficiency in English
• CPA certificate or working towards certification a plus
• MIP Fund Accounting experience a plus
• Experience with Paycor payroll systems a plus
