We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in income tax preparation. The individual should be able to work without extensive supervision on all tax and accounting related projects. The following duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare various tax returns 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1120-H, 1065, 1041, 990, 709.
• Prepare State Income tax, Payroll, Sales tax and other local tax returns.
• Prepare Amended tax returns.
• File Extensions and prepare tax planning and projections.
• Respond to client requests and questions and work with clients to obtain information for accounting and tax return completion.
• Independently respond to taxpayer notices.
• Prepare accurate tax workpapers including accounting records.
• Minimum communication with IRS.
• Tax related research.
• Prepare accurate accounting records and discuss year end adjustments with clients.

Qualifications:

• Income tax preparation experience
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and tax.
• CPA or EA preferred
• Experience with current computer tax (Lacerte) and accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
