• Competitive base salary range $125,000-$175,000 commensurate with experience

ECS Financial Services is looking for a CPA with 5-10 years of recent public accounting experience, ideally with a small to medium-sized firm. An ideal candidate will be computer literate, have supervisory experience, and offer significant experience in preparation and review of individual, trust, partnership, estate, and corporate tax returns. Client management, staff training, financial statement preparation, financial statement review, and/or attestation, and or tax audit experience are a plus.
Job Responsibilities: - Take a leadership role in directing our staff and clients by actively managing the engagement, drafting engagement letters, providing status to the client and/or staff, managing budgeted time, and billing clients - Supervise and review work performed by our staff and interact with the principals and shareholders on client and team matters - Complete tax returns and/or financial statement engagements in a timely manner - Perform technical review of tax matters including research for complex tax returns, financial statement preparation and special projects - Possesses an advanced understanding of the tax return and financial statement preparation processes - Provide feedback on performance of staff members to Principals and Shareholders - Represent clients before taxing and regulatory agencies - Monitor CPE requirements and initiate specialized training for staff as needed - Assist and actively participate in the development of departmental training, methodology and technology tools - Monitor engagement progress against client expectations - Assist management in the proposal, billing and engagement budgeting process - Participate in firm administrative duties as requested
- Ensure engagement staff follow-up on open items and that engagement deliverables are completed on a timely basis - Assist in mentoring staff by actively cultivating an environment that challenges, encourages, cares and fosters learning - Cultivate an advanced understanding of the client operations, accounting systems, financial condition, and the industries in which they operate
To succeed, candidates should ideally possess the following: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting • Licensed CPA • 5-10 years experience in a CPA firm tax department • Knowledge of IRS regulations for individuals, partnership, trust, estate, and corporate taxes • Excellent project and staff management skills • Team player with high integrity and strong work ethic • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Proficiency in Tax Preparation and research platforms • Proficiency in ProSystem Fx Tax a plus
